Adopting this approach also involves embracing a “good enough” mental- ity—meaning that teams should prioritize progress over perfection. This mindset allows them to deliver functional solutions quickly while remain- ing flexible enough to refine and improve over time. However, this doesn’t mean sacrificing quality, but rather balancing speed and practicality, with the understanding that value comes from constant iteration and improve- ment.
Developing and maintaining a data platform also prefers a shift to a product mindset in the ways the team and the whole organization organize work. Rather than treating the platform as a finite project, organizations should see it as a long-term, evolving product that requires continuous improve- ment, adaptation, and alignment with business needs. Ultimately, the goal is to enable continuous delivery—ensuring that every sprint moves the prod- uct forward and delivers value to the customer without the stop-start nature of traditional project-based approaches.
