Data Vault 2.0 is a concept for data warehousing, invented by Dan Linstedt. It brings many new features that help anyone who is concerned with Business Intelligence entering a new age of data warehousing.

Data Vault 2.0 is a Big Data concept that inte- grates relational data warehousing with un- structured data warehousing in real-time. It is an extensible data model where new data sources are easy to add. Moreover the agile methodology is based on Scrum and the disci- plined agile methodology which uses the data model for a rapid buildout of the data ware-

house. The reference architecture of Data Vault 2.0 supports not only structured data sources, but also semi-structured and unstructured such as Hadoop and real-time systems. The standard- ized loading patterns are optimized for loading performance and support generable ETL pat- terns to load massive amounts of data in a short time.

This class is a one-day class that introduces Data Vault 2.0 and its four pillars.

It helps business analysts, business managers, directors and end-users, whom are involved in an agile data warehouse project based on Data Vault 2.0 to understand the principles of the project and the decisions made. This class generally helps to increase the management support of Data Vault 2.0 projects by explaining concepts such as managed self-service BI, agile delivery of functionality and agile requirements management. In addition this class provides a general understanding of the Data Vault 2.0 con- cepts among team members who should partic- ipate in a Data Vault 2.0 project. That is why it covers all 4 pillars at a basic level. However, deep technical aspects are not covered.
